NEXUS2050 25
After the success of the first edition of NEXUS2050, a fair aiming at bringing together technology for a decarbonised world, the organisers wanted to expand on 2 exhibition halls.
In order to generate one spatial experience, we designed a continuous, large avenue spanning from the entrance to the large, 1000-seat stage.
The avenue succeded in seeminglessly linking the two halls into a continues space. Along the avenue, thematically clustered pavilions and stands found their address; on one side pure tech, and on the other side finance. Around a lush forest, encircling the matchmaking zones hosted by the chamber of commerce, startups framed the vegetation like a market setup. Within the stands, various knowledge stages were embedded, fostering exchange of ideas during keynote presentations and round tables.
The whole structure was built by scaffolding, in order to reduce the potential waste of otherwise specifically printed and subsequently trashed panels.
NEXUS2050 25 edition is hence again not a mere design or superficial staging of a fair: It’s a urban masterplan thinking on how to create urban spatial experiences and foster encounter and exchange within a sea of generic elements and unmanageable ingredients.
