MINOR MAJOR
Under the current intense developments, both social and political, built or landscaped, the history of the region begins to fade.
Contemporary mutations seem to lead to oblivion or ignorance.
There is a need to rediscover existing places and collective memories by producing new, physical experiences.
This project attempts to secularize the national monument to miners, Mont Notre-Dame des Mineurs, in order to promote awareness of Major Manufactured Mining Landscapes.
An ephemeral scaffolding structure wraps the existing tower, allowing the ascent above the crowns of trees and thus foster new perspectives.
The ascent is created by 2 double-helix staircases, encouraging spontaneous encounters at the top, on a platform covered by the original tower, like a belvedere.
