The failed attempts at domestication from the mid-century have been stripped away from this abandoned flat dating from the early 20th century.
Two carefully designed features redefine contemporary living comfort:
- a narrow 1.5-metre-wide space houses a separate toilet and a bathroom. This translucent glass box serves as both a source of light and a spatial element, defining the sequence of the space and separating the entrance from the now open-plan kitchen.
- In the living room, a curved mirrored wall extends the non-orthogonal walls, thereby visually doubling the irregular space.
The supporting structure of this mirrored wall, comprising shelves and cupboards, defines a self-contained area that serves as both a study and a guest bedroom.
