For Deimantas Narkevicius’ video art pieces, an urban plan of streets, alleys and squares was materialized by generic crate-like box-buildings, undermining the complexity of Konschthal’s architecture.

Inciting an iterative visiting promenade and not a preset trajectory, the box-buildings, which are domestic-sized rooms, open in diverse ways and enable various video formats and ergonomic relations.

The modular design of the box-buildings, developed with locally-sourced agglomerated wood panels, enables the culture institute to re-use the exhibition material and hence avoid waste.
